Why these rules exist
The Stillmore Group community is where independent labels and artists compare notes. It only works if people can ask openly, answer honestly and trust what they read. These rules keep it that way. They apply to threads, replies, profiles and reactions.
1. Be specific and kind
- Give context: what you released, where, what you tried and what happened.
- Critique the work, the plan or the idea, never the person.
- No insults, harassment, slurs, threats or pile-ons. Disagree with reasons.
- Write for the reader: a clear title, short paragraphs, and an update when your question is solved.
2. No artificial streaming, bots or paid engagement
- Do not offer, ask for or advertise streams, followers, playlist placements for money, bots or "promotion" that inflates numbers.
- Stores remove releases and withhold royalties for artificial streaming; Stillmore Group does the same.
- Posts that sell or request it are removed and the account may be restricted.
3. Keep private things private
- Earnings, statements, contract terms and advances belong in the members-only spaces (Royalties & finance, Rights & claims), which never become public.
- Never post someone else's personal details, private messages or documents without their permission.
- Do not share login details, codes or anything that gives access to an account.
4. Respect rights
- Only share music, artwork and text you have the right to share.
- Do not post leaks, unreleased material that is not yours, or ways to get around copyright protection.
- Questions about a claim or a dispute are welcome; accusations against named people or companies are not the place for it — use a support ticket.
5. Stay on topic and don't spam
- Post in the space that fits. Staff may move or close threads that do not.
- One thread per question; bump it with new information rather than opening another.
- No unsolicited promotion. Sharing your own release is fine where the space invites it; repeated self-promotion is not.
- Advertising is only possible through sponsored placements — see Advertise at the bottom of every page.
6. Report instead of retaliating
- Use Report on any thread or reply that breaks these rules. Reports go to the Stillmore Group team and are read by a person.
- Do not argue with or call out the person in the thread; the team handles it.
How moderation works
- Staff can pin, lock, hide or delete threads and replies, and edit them when something must be removed (every change is logged).
- Depending on what happened, an account can be muted (can read, cannot post) for a period or until the team lifts it, or banned from the community.
- You are told when your access changes. If you think a decision is wrong, open a ticket under Help in your workspace.
Changes to these rules
